The matchup is unique, not only because it introduces the NFL to a new continent but also as it's the first Friday night game in the NFL's opening week since 1970. This initiative is part of the NFL's broader effort to engage international audiences, with additional games scheduled in London and Munich in the same year​.

Furthermore, merchandise sales at the Allianz Arena set a new high for an NFL game held outside the US.

This program involved over 4,000 youngsters across the country, many of whom were introduced to the sport for the first time.
